New FCM office fit-out in UAE and Saudi Arabia

 

 

 

Recently, FCM Travel was delighted to open the doors of our newly refurbished offices in the Middle East and Africa in
Dubai and Riyadh.

After more than 15 years in our existing location, we felt it was time to elevate our office experience with the renewed FCM brand. Our office space in Dubai’s Media City now features modern meeting rooms, collaborative social spaces and the latest technology. The newly refurbished building accurately reflects our culture, ambition and goals.

Reflecting culture in location and design

Many of the design elements of the newly refurbed office have been chosen to pay tribute to our industry, culture and storied past. For example, all meeting rooms have been named after the cities home to our other head offices around the world. Baggage conveyor belts, business class seats, airplane doors, windows and an airport runway are incorporated with a fun element.

Also featured in the building is a piece of the artwork we commissioned by First Nations artist, Judi Sutton. The artwork tells the 40-year story of our parent company Flight Centre Travel Group; reflecting on our values, mission and history through the eyes of the artist. Not only does this artwork sit in our office, but each piece of the artwork is presented proudly in Flight Centre Travel Group offices around the world. This represents our connection across all our people globally and our shared journey of reconciliation.

    Our office features have been created to encourage collaboration and build trust among our teams and departments. They also reflect an openness to foster innovation and our work culture that promotes employee health and team performance. Spaces include:

    • Open Layout: No secretaries or executive assistants – just an open-door policy to leaders.
    • Brainstorming Spaces: Areas designed for idea exchange and creativity.
    • Networking Zones: Encouraging interaction between teams and departments.
    • Well-being Focus: A Games Room invites everyone to relax and recharge.

    A space that takes care of the planet

    The office re-fit needed to be as sustainable as possible. Our teams have worked hard to ensure that our new spaces operate in a way that aligns with our wider sustainability practices and goals. Measures included:

    • Disposal of old office equipment was carried out in a sustainable manner.
    • All unused office furniture including desks, chairs, storage units and kitchen equipment were donated to various businesses in Dubai.
    • Energy is supplied by a green energy provider.
    • Zero-waste-to-landfill policy including a ban on single-use plastics, a reduced number of printers and more recycling areas.  
    • More personalised water bottles and filtered water points
    • Lots of plants throughout the spaces.

    Second stop, Riyadh!

    Following the Dubai refurbishment, we adopted the same brand fusion concept into the newly opened
    FCM offices in Saudi Arabia. Our FCM Riyadh teams now work in a cool and fun environment.
