Bringing World360 Rewards to life through immersive event design
Achievements
In just 22 days, FCM Meetings & Events transformed Number 10 in Sydney, Australia into a fully immersive showcase of global travel. From the moment guests arrived, the space turned into a wanderlust dream, layered with culture, sound, and storytelling that captured the world travel opens up.
With a curated guest list of key corporate partners, the brief was to help people connect the dots. If this is how travel feels, this is what those World360 Rewards points can unlock.
Goals
World360 Rewards wanted to celebrate the launch of Australia’s game-changing travel loyalty program with an event that evokedthe excitement and anticipation before a trip, the curiosity of arriving somewhere new, and the energy of moving between places. The kind of moments people want to earn. The goals were to:
- Launch World360 Rewards to the travel and loyalty industries as a differentiated, travel loyalty offering.
- Bring the World360 Rewards tagline, “travel is the point”, to life in a tangible and relatable way.
- Surprise and delight by creating strong engagement between guests and activations
- Encourage future consideration and partnership with suppliers and other complementary loyalty program vendors.
Create moments people would talk about long after the night ended.
Approach
Travel has a unique pull. It’s emotional, personal, and memorable. The event needed to recreate that sense of anticipation and discovery, so guests could see the value behind earning and redeeming points. FCM Meetings & Events designed the event as a travel journey, with each touchpoint acting like a new destination on the itinerary list.
Guests arrived via a World360 Rewards blue carpet, checked in through a branded media moment, and were welcomed with a signature cocktail. From there, the space opened into a series of destination-led environments, allowing guests to move freely and explore at their own pace.
The room came alive through:
- Live performances from more than 30 performers, each bringing a different cultural influence into the space.
- A Welcome to Country grounding the experience locally, alongside acts including Geishas, an Italian opera singer, Bollywood and Brazilian dancers, Mariachi performers and more.
- Large-scale video content scattering the room, transitioning every 30 minutes between global destinations like Australia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, India, and more.
- Wall to wall mood lighting transitioned with each “destination change,” subtly guiding the flow of the evening.
- A 360-degree photo booth and branded touchpoints that encouraged interaction and social media sharing.
- Roaming service staff delivered 14 food items inspired by multiple countries.
Two stages ensured the energy carried across the entire venue, so no matter where guests were, they remained part of the experience. Every detail was designed to create a clear link between travel and World360 Rewards, helping guests understand that this is what it feels like to travel and this is what World360 Rewards opens the doors to.
In just over three weeks, the team worked closely with the client to shape the experience, align the narrative, and deliver an event that stayed true to that familiar feeling of travel.
Outcomes
The event successfully launched World360 Rewards into the world as a travel rewards program. Guests left with a clearer understanding of the program and how a partnership could return real value and create rewarding moments for travellers. The format successfully connected the concept of rewards with the experience of travel with guests being able to picture where World360 Rewards points could take them.
Key outcomes included:
- Strong engagement across the event, with guests actively exploring the environment.
- High-quality delivery across creative, production, and guest experience.
- Positive feedback from attendees on both the concept and execution.
A simple moment from one guest asking, “Where are we going next?”, reflected on how the event encouraged curiosity and exploration.
