FCM Consulting appoints Gemma King to lead global Outsourced Travel Resources practice  

London, UK, 14 September, 2026 – FCM Consulting, a division of FCM Travel, today announced the appointment of Gemma King as Global Practice Lead, Outsourced Travel Resources (OTR), to lead the growth of the company’s OTR practice and give enterprise clients flexible, on-demand access to senior travel management expertise. 

OTR provides clients with experienced travel professionals who can be deployed into their organisations to lead, support or accelerate specific programmes, from interim travel management cover to large-scale transformation and change initiatives. Under King’s leadership, the practice will grow its team and capabilities to meet rising client demand. 

Travel programmes are becoming more complex, with evolving supplier and content ecosystems, tightening governance requirements and the rapid adoption of AI increasing demand for hands-on capability alongside strategic guidance.  

The appointment builds on FCM’s recent decision to bring its global Account Management and Consulting functions together under a single customer-led vision, led by Chief Customer Officer Jo Lloyd, and its continued investment in consulting services for large, complex organisations. 

Gemma brings extensive experience from the buyer side of the industry, having spent much of her career leading multinational travel programmes and major transformation initiatives. That perspective will be invaluable as we grow OTR and give clients access to experienced people who understand first-hand the challenges they are managing.

King brings more than 20 years of experience designing, building and transforming corporate travel programmes for large global organisations to FCM. She joins from Omnicom Group, where she spent the past decade leading global travel strategy, expanding the Group’s global travel programme from 11 to 30 countries and establishing its first carbon reduction targets, governance framework and traveller security programme. Earlier in her career, she led travel category management at KPMG.  

In recent years, King has also been an influential member of the UK managed travel community. She joined the Board of the Institute of Travel Management (ITM) since 2019 and was appointed Chair in 2025. She also co-leads the ITM Mentoring Programme, reflecting her wider commitment to developing talent across the travel profession.

My focus will be on giving clients experienced support when and where they need it, while making the most of opportunities presented by automation and AI.
