Sam combines natural language processing models (like OpenAI) with business traveller profiles, company policies, past booking confirmations, individual preferences and business travel agent interactions. That means each answer is personalised and relevant. This is AI and business travel that you've never seen before!

Is Sam bilingual?
Yes, Sam can understand various languages and can also reply in a different language to your question. This is a big tick for large multi-national travel programs where teams are based all around the world.

How do conversations with Sam work?
Sam is designed for natural, question and answer interactions. Ask Sam anything! While travel planning, you could ask what perks or paperwork are needed based on the itinerary. Or ask Sam for advice on cost savings and future trends, based on your reporting dashboards in FCM Platform.
Users can access their own chat history anytime, which is stored according to standard data retention policies. If you leave and come back later, your conversation will still be there. Unlike other AI assistants, Sam won't make up answers, or use another client's information to fuel its responses to your team.

How does Sam access and manage travel policies?
Sam's knowledge is built on playbooks that contain travel policy and travel program information. Travel policies can be provided in Word docs, PDFs or links to websites. These are uploaded and managed by FCM as your business travel management company. Sam references these sources to provide accurate, policy-aligned responses. These remain private and are not used to train other customers' Sam interactions.
