The FCM Meetings & Events team has been wowing renowned industry advisors and partners with unforgettable luxury events for quite some time. So naturally, when an industry leader like Luxury Travel Collection approached us, we were all hands on deck to make magic happen on yet another stellar industry event!

The Luxury Travel Collection is the leading global house of luxury travel brands, providing an incomparable suite of luxury travel products, unparalleled experiences and benchmark services to a hand-selected collection of leading travel businesses, enabling them to provide their clients with exceptional service at all times.

So unsurprisingly, there was no grander way to kick off the year than to welcome over 200 luxury travel advisors and 60 industry partners to the sophisticated Langham Hotel, Gold Coast, for the 10th anniversary of the Luxury Product Showcase, graciously hosted by the Luxury Travel Collection.

The objectives for 2024 were to:

  • Launch a showcase event that lives and breathes luxury
  • Offer a sneak peek into the future of luxury travel, forecasting trends for the next 12-18 months
  • Present important business updates amongst the glamour
  • Provide a prestigious platform for Luxury Travel Collection’s two platinum partners to shine, spotlighting their offerings through exclusive evening soirées

Overview

Set at the prestigious Langham Hotel on the Gold Coast, FCM Meetings & Events delivered a luxury product showcase bringing together over 200 colleagues from Luxury Travel Collection brands across Australia and New Zealand. Along with more than 60 suppliers, the two-day event featured networking sessions and provided crucial industry updates for the next 12 to 18 months.

Our approach

The Langham Gold Coast was the perfect location for the Luxury Product Showcase. With its luxurious amenities and top-notch service, everything felt extra special. From eye-opening industry talks to fun networking, attendees were immersed in a place especially made for collaboration, creativity, and learning.

As the sun went down, the magic only intensified! Attendees were treated to two exclusive social connection events, hosted by platinum partners Tauck and Ponant, with true luxury ‘WOW’ moments that lingered long after the night had ended.

On night one, the FCM Meetings & Events team turned the space into a luxury art gallery opening experience for Tauck’s 100th anniversary celebration. Using images from Tauck’s photo gallery, the evening composed of a ‘live red carpet’ featuring an opera singer dressed in red, alongside a lady in a champagne glass dress, and a seven-piece swing band. The atmosphere authentically captured Tauck's rich history and the destinations they explore.

The following evening, the Luxury Product Showcase concluded with the ‘Ponant Polar Gala’. The gala dinner space was transformed into a lavish winter wonderland, complete with a stunning six-metre tree as the centrepiece. However, we warmed things up a little by handing out branded polar jackets, earmuffs, while guests enjoyed enchanting ice sculptures, and a one-off signature dessert! If that wasn’t cool enough, the event was turned into a sea of white through clever lighting and imagery, leaving guests believing they were on one of Ponant’s luxury expedition cruises somewhere in the Arctic.

Challenges

Although the speedbumps along the way were far and few, running the event at a hotel needed the FCM Meetings & Events team to make clever use of the space. So, we got creative! We pitched a marquee connected to the ballroom foyer to create some extra space for networking. Catering breaks were conveniently held on both levels of the conference centre. Plus, with all elements of the event taking place within the walls of the conference centre, we managed full creative transformations in the venue so attendees didn’t feel stuck in one location the entire time.

Results

  • 13.5 hours of product and partner training over two days.
  • Overwhelming positive response from partners to attend.
  • Most efficient annual opportunity to hone product knowledge.
  • First Luxury Travel Collection event combining advisors from all brands in AU & NZ.
  • Exceptional media coverage and social media sharing.
