Montvale, NJ — FCM Travel Solutions recently contributed $5,000 to support the mission of TechGirlz, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire middle school girls to explore careers in technology through free, hands-on technology workshops.
The hope of TechGirlz is to lessen gender disparity in the tech fields by showing girls that there many different possibilities and disciplines they can practice within the technology sector. The organization does this by offering workshops covering over 50 different topics.
FCM’s contribution to TechGirlz was inspired by the volunteerism of one of its employees, Rhiannon D'Ambrosio, the company’s Global Implementation Manager who gives her free time to Philadelphia chapter of TechGirlz. This contribution speaks directly to FCM’s support of D’Ambrosio’s efforts, but also speaks to the overall Brighter Futures program, the Corporate Responsibility platform of FCM’s parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG).
FCTG encourages its employees to build a brighter future where they work, where they live and where they travel. The company proudly supports and advocates responsible travel, positive diversity practices, empowered giving, and conservation of natural resources, in an effort to ensure global sustainability.
