Flight Centre Travel Group Names Maren Hanschke President of FCTG Mexico and Latin America Network
Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) Americas has announced that FCTG Mexico President Manuel Viñas will be retiring at the end of July 2020. Current Head of FCM Latin America, Maren Hanschke has been appointed to succeed him and will assume his responsibilities effective March 1, 2020. Viñas will continue to collaborate and assist with the transitioning, and various projects through to his departure on July 31st.
After 34 years in the travel industry leading important Global TMCs in Mexico including the last 5 with FCTG since it acquired Koch, Viñas is ready for the next chapter in his life. “This company has been my home for five years and it is a place that has brought me fulfillment, joy and a sense of great pride,” said Viñas. “While as professionals we always feel there is more work to be done, I am proud of all that I have achieved in this role. It has been very satisfying watching the company expand and grow over the years but now I feel it is time to hand over the reins. I do so confidently with Maren, having known her since she started her career in the travel industry, and she is without question the best person to take the company into the future.”
Hanschke brings with her more than 20 years of travel industry experience. For the last fifteen years, she has worked in the travel industry specializing in business travel and global TMCs. She has spent the last decade leveraging her sales, OBT and change management experience on a regional level for FCTG’s Latin American and Caribbean markets, creating a high value proposition for multinational clients. Hanschke has served as an active Member at the GBTA Advisory Board for Latin-America since 2017 and has participated as speaker in multiple conventions.
“Manuel’s experience in business development and brand integration have both been a source of inspiration,” said Hanschke. “We will take what he has taught us and use it wisely to help grow and further strengthen the foundation he built for us. I am both honored and humbled to be named as his successor in the role of President of FCTG Mexico and Latin America.”
