Corporate Traveler, FCM Travel, and Healthwise Global introduce wellness resource to help business travelers maintain healthy habits in the New Year
New York, NY (January 16, 2026) – Corporate Traveler and FCM Travel, the flagship business travel brands of Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), today announced they have teamed up with Healthwise Global to release a wellness resource designed to help travelers protect their health and wellbeing while on the road.
As FCTG’s corporate wellness provider, Healthwise Global collaborated with experts from the company’s corporate travel division to develop customized, practical tips for travelers to maintain their health and fitness in the new year. With business travel back in full swing, this resource will serve as timely tool for corporate travelers as they embrace a return to the road following the holiday season.
From long-haul flights to early morning departures followed by a full-day meetings, organizations have a duty of care to support employee health and safety while traveling. Through this new resource, corporate travelers can access actionable advice on maintaining diet and exercise routines, managing jetlag, staying hydrated, and more.
As business travel continues to accelerate, supporting the health and wellbeing of our travelers remains a top priority,” said Charlene Leiss, President of Flight Centre Travel Group Americas. “This resource reflects our commitment to duty of care and to providing proven, real-world tools that help our customers and employees travel safely, feel their best, and perform at their highest level wherever work takes them.
Best tips for maintaining healthy habits on the road
According to Healthwise Global, Corporate Traveler, FCM Travel
- Hydrate early. Rehydrating after the holiday season is essential before traveling. Aim for eight glasses of water daily to improve focus, digestion, skin health, and to help prevent headaches. While it may mean more trips to the restroom, your body will thank you upon landing.
- Perfect your pre-airport routine. Prepare the night before to minimize stress. Pack healthy snacks, plan a quick but balanced breakfast and prioritize a good night’s sleep. Checking your route to the airport in advance can also help avoid unexpected delays.
- Use seat selection to your advantage. Remaining seated for long periods makes circulation more difficult. Choosing an aisle seat allows you to stand, stretch, and move about the cabin when safe to do so.
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol. While tempting, both can contribute to dehydration due to their diuretic effects, especially in the dry cabin environment. Opt for water when flying, and on long-haul flights, consider electrolyte tablets to aid hydration.
- Eat balanced meals in moderation. Hotel buffets and dining out can make healthy choices more challenging. Limiting processed sugars helps maintain stable energy levels. Moderation is key – balanced meals with lean protein, vegetables, and whole grains allow for occasional treats without derailing healthy habits.
- Stay active while traveling. Travel doesn’t have to interrupt your exercise routine. Walking after check-in, using resistance bands in your hotel room, or performing simple exercises like squats, burpees, and bicycle crunches can help keep you active in small spaces.
- Prioritize sleep. Quality rest helps the body adjust to new time zones and improves focus upon arrival. Eye masks, earplugs, and limiting screen time before sleep can significantly improve rest while traveling.
Healthwise is proud to have looked after the health and well-being of Corporate Traveler and FCM Travel employees, especially when they are on the road at home and abroad, said Tod Horton, Healthwise Global Business Leader. “It can be difficult to stick to a ‘better you’ New Year’s resolution, but healthy isn’t hard, and even if they’re short on time and seeking convenience, business travelers can still maintain and improve their health. Something as simple as walking the length of the plane is worth doing. When it comes to your well-being, every little step helps.
