FCTG’s Half Year Corporate Conference in Nola a roaring success!

What better location to bring the 7 corporate USA brands of Flight Centre Travel Group than the eclectic and inclusive city of New Orleans.

Earlier this month together with FCM, around 200 of Flight Centre’s corporate brand’s team leaders from across the US gathered for 2 days together to mark our progress, celebrate team and individual success and participate in extremely important accreditation training.FCM truly believe in the importance of working closer together with our non-USA locations and the conference weekend also brought together the FCM teams from farther afield such as FCM Canada and FCM Mexico.

Charlene Leiss, President Corporate Brands said "Our leadership conferences are a critical part of FCM and Flight Centre culture in that they afford the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues around the world in person on an ongoing basis.  This is also one of the many ways we keep up to date with the many facets of our fast paced, ever-changing industry.  We talk in depth about what we are doing well for our clients and how we can improve, we introduce and train on new technology, and we learn constantly from each other and from industry experts we engage to address our teams.  Equally as important, we continue to open up the world for those who want to see, namely our most valued asset, our employees, so they can in turn use that knowledge to amaze and best serve our customers."

The event was flawlessly organized internally through cievents, our global full-service corporate event management agency and was sponsored by our partners Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise/National Rental Cars), Delta, Starwood together with The Sheraton New Orleans and Freebird. New Orleans may be viewed as a primarily leisure travel destination due to its European feel, somewhat notoriously wild nightlife, buzzing music scene and mélange of incredible restaurants; however with a vast choice of hotels with fantastic meeting and event space, rich history and plenty of daytime as well as evening activities to explore it is increasingly popular amongst leisure and business travelers alike. For a lot of people the association with New Orleans is often Mardi Gras and the city is indeed infamous for its lively street parades, also known as second lines.

As well as providing educational opportunities across the brands the half-year conference also aims to celebrate the people of FCTG who are the foundation of our business.  We took on the spirit of New Orleans closing the conference by taking to the streets with our own second line followed by a voodoo neon-chic themed celebration!
