GBTA has asked the travel community how they would define today’s corporate travel buyer?
Is it someone who manages the travel experience for their organization’s employees? Do they micromanage every aspect of transportation and accommodations for their travelers? Are they also involved in the planning and execution of corporate meetings and events? And how has this role changed over the past year? Decade? Century?
All that is certain is that the role of the travel buyer is evolving. Tomorrow’s travel professionals are being defined by emerging technologies which have transformed the modern managed travel experience. Every day, new roles and responsibilities are created for travel buyers—to include procurement, human resources, security/risk mitigation and meetings management. New security risks have altered the very identity of the travel professional, who must now factor current geopolitical issues into consideration.
Welcome to GBTA Convention 2019—where the next generation of travel professionals meet world-class education and networking with industry-leading suppliers.
As the industry evolves, so must we adapt! FCM is always thinking ahead into the future and adapting for our customers through our service and our technology. Come meet us at booth 4412 and find out how we have evolved, how we adapt and how we connect your travel program.

Build a SolarBuddy to light up the lives of those suffering from energy poverty
Visit FCM Travel Solutions at GBTA to build a SolarBuddy light and join FCM in the fight against energy poverty.
Approximately 18% of the world's population has no access to electricity which equates to 1.4 billion people living in the dark. This severely impacts education, health, the economy and the environment. SolarBuddy's mission is to help break this cycle and improve the educational opportunities of six million children living in darkness by providing them with solar lights to study after dusk. FCM is proud to be a partner and supporter of SolarBuddy and we’re giving you the chance to be part of this great cause by building a SolarBuddy light at the GBTA.
The lights only take 10 minutes to build and you get to write a note to go with your light.
