We are so proud of the work done by our people to support customers during COVID-19. This week we are profiling Chris McCarthy, a Regional Account Management Leader for FCM to learn about his approach during the crisis and beyond.
How long have you been with the company?
I’ve been working within the Flight Centre Travel Group in various roles since 2015.
What do you think makes FCM stand out from the rest?
Our agents really go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their travelers are taken care of from start to finish. FCM hires the most consultative and knowledgeable agents within the industry which makes us stand out from the rest.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy reviewing data with clients and using that to drive change in behaviors with travelers. I am a big believer that if you want to change someone’s behavior, you must change the way they think about the topic or idea so utilizing reports or dashboards to tell a story is one of my favorite roles as an account manager.
Tell us a bit about your approach during COVID-19?
I think we are all facing something we haven’t seen in the industry before and we are dealing with it for the first time. I think our customers need plenty of information in order to make the best decisions for their travelers so I am working hard to distribute numerous resources that will support their return to the road. This period, and spending months on Zoom calls, will also change the landscape of the travel industry moving forward and I am excited to be a part of that.
When you’re not assisting customers navigate their travel programs, what keeps you busy?
I spend tons of time outdoors with my girlfriend staying active hiking, camping, running with our dog, etc. We also love to try new restaurants in Chicago while catching up with friends & family, so I look forward to being able to do those things again soon!
