Coronoavirus update

FCM is monitoring the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the impact on business travelers and will continue to keep clients informed during this active situation. Please always check with your own company or procurement travel manager for your employer’s travel policy and crisis plan.

Our teams are proactively checking upcoming trips and will update travelers affected. Customers concerned about upcoming trips or looking to cancel or rebook any travel should contact their dedicated travel team or account manager. Travelers are advised to download FCM's SAM app to stay updated on all travel disruptions, and customers can use FCM Secure - our online global security tracking and reporting tool - to keep track of health advisories issued by WorldAware and to locate travelers.

Closure of Canada – U.S. Border 
The Canada – U.S. Border closed Friday, March 20 at midnight for non-essential travel until further notice. Please refer to our FAQ for more details.

Travel from Europe
On Friday, March 13, the United States restricted all travel from the Schengen Region of Europe to the United States for 30 days pending further notice. On Monday, March 16, these travel restrictions were extended to also include the United Kingdom and Ireland. 

Travel Risk Assessment
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) assesses daily by country the risk for US travelers and what to expect from traveling to affected countries, from Level 1: Practice Usual Precautions to Level 3: Avoid Nonessential Travel. As these advisory levels are changing rapidly, we recommend checking the CDC travel advisories website for the latest updates. 

On August 6, in close coordination with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Department of State lifted the Global Level 4 Health Advisory.  The Global Advisory, initially put in place on March 19, 2020, advised U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19.

With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to the previous system of country-specific levels of travel advice (with Levels from 1-4 depending on country-specific conditions), in order to give travelers detailed and actionable information to make informed travel decisions.

COVID-19 Secure Dashboard

COVID-19 Dashboard Now Available

In reponse to client needs during the current pandemic, FCM has developed a COVID-19 Dashboard which can be deployed to customers via Secure, our travel risk management solution.

The COVID-19 Dashboard is designed to aid all customers by providing accurate and reliable information about the spread of the virus as well as timely departure and arrival reports to assist travel managers locate and communicate with their travelers.

The Dashboard has several components

  • Risk Map outlining the location of confirmed cases worldwide
  • Secure Flash Alert tab providing the most up-to-date Critical Alerts issued by WorldAware along with a list of potentially affected travelers
  • Security and health risk ratings per country assisting customers to proactively assess the destinations most frequented by their travelers
