Gautrain to offer contactless bank card service

Gautrain

From October 31, travellers can use their contactless bank cards to tag in and out of stations (bus and parking included).

Gautrain has assured travellers that it does not store bank card numbers; instead, the numbers are converted to a token, which is saved.

To use a contactless bank card on the Gautrain service, submit your unique token and contact details on the Gautrain website. Travellers are warned not to use two different bank cards to tag in and out, as this will result in a penalty of R200 being charged to both cards.

A dedicated person will be available at each Gautrain station until December 13 to assist with the registration process and to answer any questions.
