Location, location, location: Putting Hotel Britomart on the Map

Hotel Britomart

Calm, timber-clad rooms. Tons of natural light and quiet spaces to meet and work. Sound appealing? If you're travelling to Auckland soon, Hotel Britomart is the perfect choice for you.

The hotel is at the heart of a dynamic waterfront precinct in the downtown CBD. So you’re really close to the action. But it’s not loud or brash. The beautiful décor, warm atmosphere and green credentials make it the most comfortable and eco-conscious stay around.

This one-of-a-kind hotel features sustainable touches like organic bed linen, refillable toiletries and compostable slippers – we kid you not! And if you want to explore Auckland under your own steam, a collection of bicycles is waiting for you.

Melissa Elf, General Manager, Large Market & Specialist Brands for FCM Australia, was lucky enough to take advantage of the trans-Tasman travel bubble, winging her way to Auckland for a stay at the Hotel Britomart.

“Auckland is where it’s at,” says Melissa. “Not only is the CBD New Zealand’s economic hub, but it has a thriving film industry and vibrant performing arts scene.”

For business travellers, production teams or people in the events, stage and screen industry, Hotel Britomart’s location is hard to beat. Even better? Enter the lobby and you’ll discover an urban retreat like no other. According to Melissa, this is your home away from home.

“The hotel is stunningly beautiful, with all the mod cons for an effortless stay. But they have also captured a homely, cosy feel and you’ll feel instantly relaxed and at ease.”

Melissa together with Tom Walley, General Manager for Corporate Traveller Australia, were the first Australians to visit the new hotel since the bubble opened.

“The launch of the trans-Tasman bubble is an exciting step,” says Melissa. “About 400 quarantine-free flights per week are expected to arrive in and leave Auckland now that the bubble is in place, which will give business and leisure travel a much-needed boost.”

The Hotel Britomart, which opened to local guests in October 2020, is ready and waiting. It’s New Zealand's first 5 Green Star hotel and boasts 99 guest rooms plus five landing suites with spacious outdoor terraces (this is rooftop living at its best!).

“The hotel is proudly Auckland,” says Melissa. “Not only does the exterior of the 10-storey building fit beautifully into the city’s arty and eclectic vibe, but the hotel celebrates local, sustainable food in its on-site eatery, Kingi, and supports resident artisans, designers, and regional producers.”

Book a stay at Auckland’s newest waterfront hotel and find yourself in the middle of the city’s best restaurants, shops, cafes and boutiques. It’s a spot you’ll want to come back to again and again.
