Smiles all round at Bupa’s Dental Conference
In March 2023, after 3 cancellations and postponements, Bupa Dental Care were finally able to host their National Conference in Sydney for Dentists and Practice Managers from across Australia. The showcase event included a full expo set up, a jam-packed conference agenda with two keynote speakers, a gala awards dinner with entertainment, and even a lunchtime networking cruise around Sydney Harbour.

Background
After 3 prior cancellations, the biggest challenge facing the team was managing the expectations from attendees and suppliers alike. The event had to go ahead this time, and it had to be fantastic! There was simply no room for error – the schedule had to run like clockwork, all travel arrangements accurate, and the event content needed to be engaging and beneficial.
Highlights
The Bupa and FCM Meetings & Events teams combined powers to act as one large team for the planning and execution of the event. It allowed for a greater flow of ideas and support which made the experience fun and collaborative (and successful!) for both parties. Additionally, this teamwork allowed new ideas to be tested, such as hosting the Welcome Function inside the sponsor expo area.
Further highlights included:
- Breakout rooms and learning labs allowed attendees to further their education and experience.
- The gala dinner included elements of comedy from MC, acrobatic performances, sensational singing and a DJ to end the evening!
- The networking event on The Jackson allowed for a scenic venue change, with a beautiful backdrop of the Sydney skyline.
